I'm surprised Enterprise is beating voyager. For all it's faults voy is propper trek enterprise isn't.

I also follow the polls on the official star trek site. And almost no mater how the question. Enterprise/characters/etc. Loose.

Gunfreak, I think it's because more people actually saw episodes of Voyager. If they saw more of Enterprise, they'd hate it more.

Personally, I thought the three big mistakes of the franchise were the transporter, the holodeck and Q. I watched the Enterprise pilot, and there was the transporter back. About three episodes in were hologram people. I bailed right then, before John deLancie could guest star, so I was out of Enterprise at less than half a season. But I watched Voyager episodes scattered over several seasons before giving up altogether. Honest, I kept thinking it was going to improve. So I was wrong.

Voyager's story arc was bad, but individual episodes were occasionally quite good. But when they were bad, they were dreadful. Enterprise struggled throughout, though I remember the Mirrorverse story fondly.

If you asked me to do a series rewatch, though, my preference order would be:
TOS, DS9, VOY, TNG, ENT. Why?
TOS is TOS, original, clever, and doing more with less technical capability. As a result, the episodes hold up because the emphasis could fall on story.
DS9 had a weak start, but when the story arcs began to kick in, it soared, boosted by strong characters, too.
Why Voyager over TNG? Because there was a LOT of dreck that got shoveled in as filler on TNG over its on-too-long run, making the ratio of bad-episodes-before-a-good-one painfully high, and the mediocre episodes in the mix have not aged well, either. Voyager never reached the heights of TNG, but the utterly unwatchable episodes are actually fewer in the long run, and the acting is generally solid among the entire cast. For individual episodes, TNG will have more winners, but as a series to sit through, I'd go for Voyager, despite its gross flaws.

Yeah. I don't get it either. Why not just go "down and dirty" on the first round?

I'm not. I thought, with the exception of the cheesy theme, Enterprise recaptured the glory of ToS like no other series did.

I agree, I also find it easier to watch than the rest. I'm sitting through re-watching all the Star Trek shows with the kids. TNG has not aged well from when I saw it on-air in the 90s. DS9 is solid, but the last session is a let down and series ends poorly. We are starting Voyager and it is just penance so we can watch Enterprise.

Have to say five out of six is not a hard series of choices

I probably liked Enterprise best of the successor shows

TOS then Enterprise. Watched TNG but laugh at how dated and cheesy it looks now.

TOS, DS9, ENT.

ENT's ship should have been a Daedalus class though.

TNG is my favorite, although rewatching some of TOS lately and I didn't remember how good some of those were. DS9 had it's moments, but Voyager never did anything for me. As my brother noted it was a 'Star Trek for the 90's', i.e. we don't want to explore strange new worlds anymore, we just wanna go home! Enterprise was just a lot of wasted potential. It could have been something really special and instead it was drek.

I'll concede a few good episodes, but I felt TNG took Third Season Trek as an exemplar, when it should have been a grim warning.

Mako1101 Mar 2017 3:48 a.m. PST

I just picked one, since there's no question the original was best.

My wife loved the theme song of Enterprise.
