What is a Trencherman?

A more polite term than glutton. One who eats well with enthusiasm.

We always have pizza for our weekend games. It's hard to fit the slices into a trencher.

I am still unclear on the concept. I have an eating disorder, so I'll say "most likely."

I learn from Wiktionary the word goes back at least to Shakespeare. Can't recall having encountered it before, though.

Like I guess most young men I had a ferocious appetite in my late teens, but unlike some of my wargamer friends I stopped eating like a horse in my early twenties, and as a result never developed the stereotypical wargamer physique.

(This wasn't out of any great degree of self-control – witness my lead mountain – but I simply didn't feel as hungry anymore.)

i prefer the term food enthusiast, but yes.

I seldom make comments about the gustatory habits of myself or my opponent. Solo gaming makes that easy.

With an actual chefs and a few amateur ones in the gaming group – yeah. We generally eat well.

Pardon the pun, but I find this question in bad taste.
