First time in this poll there were more titles I enjoyed than I was allowed votes. I expect that the next round will involve more actual choice on my part.

Yes. Anyone who went to Penn State can identify with the Lord Kalvan stories.

IF I ever collected a Pike and Shot army (nope. Never did!😢), either ECW or 30 Years War, one could game the story.
Those of us in the Penn State science fiction club, could identify Mt Nittany. 😄
And Bellefonte was definitely Hostigos.

Within the past week, I was explaining 17th Century dragoons to a non-historian, and I couldn't do better than Princess Rylla describing their mounts. ("They all have four legs, and they were all alive as of yesterday evening.")

FINALLY some books I have actually heard of and a few that I actually read. The High Crusade, a great read.

Just about anything by Poul Anderson is good.

The Island of Doctor Moreau is Wells' masterpiece.

I like war of the worlds, of course, but Moreau is something else.

Just about anything by Poul Anderson is good.

Never liked him. Maybe I should give him another shot.

I recommend "Hrolf Kraki's Saga", "The Broken Sword" and "Tau Zero".
I imagine the latter will turn up later in the Poll.
