I had to vote for "Memphis Belle" as my dad was a B-17 crewman in the 8th AF. In fact he actually had to crank down the landing gear at the end of a mission just like was portrayed in the movie.

I had to vote same as ColCampbell. My late Father-in-law flew B-17s. He liked it enough that he stayed in the Air Force until 1966.

If they had a movie about the 9th Army Air Force I'd vote for that as my Dad served there. But they flew B-26's on medium tactical raids. Not as "film worthy" as the high flying B-17's and B-24's both of which I love.

But hats off for all those "fly-boys" and their supporting ground crews.

Gotta go with 12 O'Clock High!

Good movies all, but for the sheer beauty of flying I have to go with The Blue Max. And then there's Ursula, too… :)
