No – not sure I've heard of this game. There are so many games….. |

But makes it hard for anything new to make inroads into an established market. |

I have just recently bought into Infinity and it is an incredible SF skirmish game-- probably the best out there. |

I want to. Got the latest iteration of the rules, but if it's too fiddly, I'll pass. |

I picked up the new starter forces at Gencon as I wanted to paint the figures. I have not managed to get a game in yet though. |

No. But I have looked at it several times in the past, and my LGS has recently gotten in the new starter box… |

It really is the best sci-fi small action skirmish game out there. Nazrat is right on that score. Dentatus, it can be fiddly in the sense of there being a lot of rules. I've been on two separate Infinity kicks, the first when it was originally released in 2004 or 2005 or whatever. We played with mostly the models that came in the starter sets. Any model types that had rules we didn't know, we skipped. We didn't have any hackers at first or TAGs and the game was great with just some regular guys and some PA troops. The figures were amazing and the game was cinematic and a lot of fun to play. Several years went by as my interests changed and I played very little sci-fi or fantasy games at all. But then a year or so ago I pulled Infinity out again and we started playing and we are still playing. We have teased out more of the rules and now play with pretty much everything in it. The point is that it can be as fiddly as you want. With the starter rules that come in the starter sets you can get a great game and then you can add dimensions to it as you go. |

Don't play it. Some of the minis look nice. Others, well………. Can't afford the minis, so haven't considered the rules. I suppose, if the rules are sold separately, you could use other minis instead, to make it less expensive. |

Well, the rules are FREE for download so that should never be a hinderance. You could use pretty much anything to play, but their line of figures is so incredible I had to have them, cost be damned. Worth every penny! And since you play with only 6-10 models an "army" will only set you back 40-100 bucks depending on what you field. Skip having a TAG (huge suit of armor) and you drop down to the lower end of the spectrum. But you GOTTA have a TAG!! 8)= |

When I first discovered the game the minis were definitely hit and miss. They've recently been doing a revamp of the line, though. A lot of the dogs have been phased out and in their place are some really amazing minis. And it's not just the heavy-hitters. I held off on getting Shao-lin monks even though I wanted to field them because the minis were dumb. The replacements are just amazing. Just of the nicest minis in my collection now. |

There are a few of the figures I don't like. The Dog soldiers will never be in any army I own because the concept doesn't fit in with how I want to play. Ditto with the Shaolin monks. Useless because they almost always die before they can get into close combat and if I wanted to play a game where close combat was a major factor I'd just play 40K or Inquisitor. Overall though I think the sculpting of the range has been excellent. Except for the first version of Uxia McNeil and a couple of others every figure is gorgeous. I got into the game when I first saw the figures because of the figures. |
