Not only is it not my favourite period, it's a bit of a hole in my wargaming experience. I've played lots of World War I games and some Great Northern War ones (which still have pikes), but almost nothing in between.

TLC. doubleones, I can only give you my heartfelt sympathy, and assure you that when you're ready, there will be seats at the table for you.

For me, it's classic toy soldiery--important battles which can be fought on a tabletop with visible and distinct armies. I've worked earlier and later, but this is peak.
