Really don't care, as long as they're big enough to read quickly on the table top from a standing height. (Standard appears to be 15mm, as that's what I have the vast majority of in my bags. But that's just because of common availability, not preference.) |

12mm is working good for me, doesn't disturb the minis, can fit a lot in a dice box. |

I think the closest thing to a standard is 16mm. It's certainly the most popular choice here this far. Personally, though, I think they're a bit bigger than ideal. My favorite wargaming dice are 12mm. |

Chessex type small roundy dice roll more ones than sixes. Basic 16mm squarish Yahtzee type dice roll more evenly and are easy to read across the table. |

Depends on how bad the eyesight of the players is. |

Really depends on what I'm doing. For most wargames it's 12mm dice but I use much smaller, maybe 6mm for wound / casualty markers and for RPG's my go to is 16mm dice. |

I favor 16mm for most purposes. They're visible at tabletop ranges, and most of the custom dice, for which I have a weakness, are 16mm. I keep 12mm with 2mm armies, but I'll grant anyone it's more symbolic than practical. Still, they're visible enough on a 2x2 board. Anything smaller is a status marker. I did make a serious effort a few years ago to make sure the contrast between did color and pip color was sufficient. That's usually more important for reading them. And yes, I keep a few 25mm dice with my 54mm forces. Just in case. |

I prefer casino dice. 19mm and milled square. |

I thought you couldn't get those intact? The ones casinos sell as souvenirs have been drilled through, which would likely mess up the probabilities. |

I've seen places online that claim to sell them intact (but warn you they're "worn out", i.e. has been used so long the casino doesn't trust their accuracy anymore). I haven't bought any, though, and if I had I couldn't tell you if they were the real deal or knockoffs. |
