I have Quar and warpath stuff but went for the Space pirates. Has a Flash Gordon, Blakes 7 nostalgia to them. |

Unfortunately the list misses Oddzial Osmy's New Vistula Legion, released in September 2011. |

Why didn't you nominate them? |
Fighting 15s | 07 Jan 2013 4:47 a.m. PST |
Because, Bill, it's easy enough to miss the two or so day window in which a message board topic stays alive on the main page. The nominations, checking back, were probably live there from 8 to 10 February 2012 because nothing else was added past then. I know back then I'd have been clearing orders to get ready for the Spring Cup in Milan (my life outside wargaming), and I probably did what I usually do when I'm busy, which is skim the news headlines of wargames sites and not look at message boards. I am, also, just a stockist of the range. John, at Picoarmor, also stocks them and didn't nominate them, and nor did Marcin of Oddzial Osmy, who actually makes them. I also feel that as someone deeply involved in the range that perhaps nominations should come from wargamers, not people with a vested interest. Not that having a "best range of 2011" announced in 2013 seems remotely topical or something I would care to trumpet because the date makes it sound so stale. In 2013 I really only care about the best ranges of 2012 and if the 2012 winners are announced in 2014, rather than early in 2013, I won't even care particularly then. As I said, it's a shame that the NVL weren't there, and as a 2011 range aren't valid for 2012, but the staleness of the awards makes that regret a minor concern. Ian |

I'm half way through my first squad of Quar right now. I don't have any games in mind (though I got the Songs Of Our Ancestors book), I just saw them and decided I needed to paint some. |

I'm in the same boat. No real idea of a game, but I've always liked them along with Zombiesmith's other minis. I just like their look in 28mm. With the sale on, my son wants me to pick up some 15mm Aphids as well. |

I should pay attention. Thanks, all! To celebrate 15% off everything! (Seriously, having a sale, come get some award winning Quar for 15% off!) ;) |
