Expensive little suckers.

However, my wallet received some relief when a member of our little group started making them wholesale.

It is so nice to have a technical genius as a friend.

Can't get enough of them though… and whilst they ain't cheap but they are very effective.

jdeleonardis08 Feb 2012 5:51 a.m. PST

I agree with Mikeland – expensive as hell, but totally worth it IMHO

I thought it was a song by Fleetwood Mac.

Tufts the terrain as opposed to Tufts the University

I started using them about a year ago and now use them all the time – as noted, expensive but having a really nice base helps take attention away from my lousy painting

Caesar08 Feb 2012 7:55 a.m. PST

I don't use them, but a friend does and the effect is very nice.

ming3108 Feb 2012 8:40 a.m. PST

I saw them in a "how to video" and that they were from silfor . The army painter is very expensive compared to the GW . They realy make a base pop and give a really nice look even on a gaming figure

Willtij08 Feb 2012 10:25 a.m. PST

Tufts, the hair plugs of gaming.

They are great. They really add something to desert bases and can even add a good bit to simple flock on a base.

Love them …

I only recently started using them, but the results are VERY pleasing. So much better than just flock or static grass alone. And you only have to add two or three tufts to a base, so one pack goes quite a ways.

Now that I use them, a base that does not have tufts on it seems bare in comparison.

Jamesonsafari08 Feb 2012 3:19 p.m. PST

They are on my wish list of things to acquire once the finances are more secure.

Laughing Ferret08 Feb 2012 4:05 p.m. PST

Worth the money. Yes, I often use them.

jay13808 Feb 2012 4:24 p.m. PST

Expensive but look outstanding ,went back and put them on everything in my small collection. I'll use them all the time now.

Gear Pilot08 Feb 2012 5:02 p.m. PST

Yes, but not on every base in an army. Just to add some variation.

Etranger08 Feb 2012 5:04 p.m. PST

Marvellous things! So much easier than making long grass from sisal or similar.

Ratbone08 Feb 2012 10:02 p.m. PST

I've still got the first tufts pack I bought. I've used a little over half the original package, and since then I've bought all the new options. I have been getting the Army Painter ones, even though I've since learned they're cheaper elsewhere. Mainly because my FLGS gets them and I don't use them enough to warrant finding another source for more product at less cost.

They are great. Even at the stated "double" cost I'm paying, they are a BARGAIN compared to using other methods of basing and they take simple paint and flock bases to another level. Now I paint, glue a rock and a tuft and flock some portion. Quick, simple, easy and far better than my old basing. Makes my middling paint jobs look halfway decent.

StarfuryXL509 Feb 2012 6:30 p.m. PST

Tuft choice.

Syrinx009 Feb 2012 7:51 p.m. PST

I bought way too many ground choices, tufts among them, from scenic express. Well worth the cost. Almost makes me want to work on a train board. Almost.

looks like something someone who ties flies might come up with
