Though i would stat by the whole idea of any recognizable humanity in space. Space Humans will be meta-humans I bet.

What future? Tomorrow? Twenty years? A hundred? Ten thousand?

I'm sure if the game writer was Chinese, Arab, or African that the game would be centered on their couture. writers write about what they know and sometimes bring in a little of what they don't know well to add spice, but that takes a lot of work and they would need a good reason to do more work.

I am not sure that there is much risk of an African or Arab stellar empire, and while I take the point about the Chinese there are some people and a lot of sci-fi minis that are Chinese-themed; there are also some Arab-themed sci-fi minis as well

It's the designer's choice and its just a game – but again, extrapolating far, far into the future who is to say what is likely to happen

After all, if you were a Roman centurion in Britain in 50 AD you would hardly have guessed that Britain was destined for great things

Fantasy and scifi is mostly written by white nerds, so it reflects the cultures of white nerds.

As for whether it ought to, I think pluralistic worlds are more interesting. Why have boring scifi when you can have Malaysian space marines, Norwegian grav tanks and Nigerian drop troopers?

Don't let reality get in the way of a story -it is fiction after all.

Let's see – who has made the most flight into space/has suitable technology?

Russia/Soviet Union

USA

Europeans (European Space Agency (ESA))

Who might shift the paradigm?

People's Republic of China (or at least they are selling themselves as the next nation into space…) with several flights and perhaps rightly so -"… This achievement placed China as the third country to send humans into space independently. They are now planning to launch their fifth space flight costing about $6.27 USD billion…"

Others yet to come?

Top 10 Countries with Space Presence

In the past generation, scientists, politicians, businessmen and many others had been very curious with the life out of earth. Many have been asking about what the universe looks like, and all these questions that pertain to the outer space were always answered by speculations and hunches. With the advanced technology, people have explored the possibility of actually stepping out of the earth's atmosphere to see how beautiful the universe is, thus, the birth of what we call space missions.

Space missions or space flights have become part of human achievement in the 20th century. The Soviet Union started sending space missions, which inspired other countries to explore the space as well. And in line with that, here are the top ten countries with the most space presence.

10. Israel

9. Iran

8. South Korea

7. Japan

6. United Kingdom

5. India

4. France

3. China

2. Russia (Soviet Union)

1. United States of America

In a future where humanity has reached the stars our old earthen nations would probably soon be obsolescent.
They might still exist back on earth, and possibly in parts of the solar system.

But would humans living far, far away consent to being ruled by earthbound territorial interests?
Tricky enough here at the bottom of the well.

Of existing nations, only First Worlds will be in space. It's expensive.

So, some Euronations, sure. But China and India will be there. Japan, too, probably. US of course. Possibly a Brazil or something.

"… In a future where humanity has reached the stars…"

I fear that will never happen in reality but since this is science fiction…

It can be whatever you want it to be…

Maybe North America/Europe/Russia will destroy each other leaving Asia/Africa/Oceania/South America to crawl back into civilization and into space…
