Miniature warfare is constant, but the type of activity varies with the season. I am now painting 10mm ACW and putting together scenarios for the campaigning season, which runs November to May.

There used to be the marching season, which meant prepping for and attending conventions from Cold Wars and the SYWA Convention in spring through Historicon and The Weekend in summer and ending with Fall In. It could happen again.

I take time off when I get tired of working on stuff. Usually just short periods.

I tend to have more reenactments in the spring, summer and fall than the winter. That takes precedence over gaming.

I can't spray prime anything from October to April so late summer is assembly and prime season, but otherwise no change.

The last UK show is usually early December. We generally have our weekly game up until the week before Christmas – then have a couple of weeks break before resuming in early January.

So I guess, generally, we have a 50 week season and 2 week Winter break.

Don't take time off per se. Active year 'round but especially as the Christmas Season approaches so November-December sees me at my most active. This might be a reflection from my youth when our parents usually would give us toy soldiers/war gaming figures for Christmas.

My output is never constant, but the seasons don't impact what I do.

Summer is ideal painting weather for rattlecan basecoats, details drying, etc.

Summer is pretty busy with family time/traveling and work around the farm, so I tend to paint more in winter

I have noticed that in the USA the northerners paint more in the winter and the southerners paint more in the summer. It is all climate driven.

I live in the sunny southwest. During the winter it might go as low as 60 degrees. Then get out the parka! I have only shoveled snow one time in the last 16 years. So I paint whenever I feel like it. Which isn't often.

Somewhat, painting has always been mostly fall winter, games in summer.
