Probably less than 10%, but more than 0.

Are bases terrain? And does MDF count as wood? Depends a lot on scale, and whether we're counting volume or weight, but pretty low.

This really varies on the scenario being presented. Mostly it will be 10% or much less. I some cases it will be much more as I build specific terrain pieces for the particular scenario.

Well, if cardstock counts as wood, then quite a bit! :)

Trick question that. Randomly chose 20% as an average, maybe. Varies wildly by game.

Most games use wood bases, some use coins, poker chips, or clear plastic. Some games use lots of mdf buildings and other bridges and bits built out of wood; others are all 3D print and plastic terrain. A few terrain pieces have bits of twigs in the ground cover.

90% of my figures are based on basswood or MDF.
As for terrain, I do a lot if FIW.

Assuming mdf counts as wood, maybe something like 25% by weight, mostly in the form of bases for area terrain. Differs a lot from game to game (am I using the all-foam hills or the ones built on a mdf base?).

If mdf doesn't count, there's very little wood in my terrain, but not quite none.

Craft sticks for snake rail fencing for ACW, but other than that none.

At least 40%, depending on the scale. Much of my Western buildings are scratch-bult from milled wood sheets with plenty of basswood/balsa details, so that terrain is 95% wood.

Fantasy terrain has 50% or more, beams, floors, windows, etc.
