"Arbitrary" isn't the word for a division that gives you most but not all of WWII--which (big surprise) was my first choice.

Second choice would have been 1910-1919, but only to get the opening months of WWI with more colorful uniforms and maneuver--probably fought with FPW rules, which is what they thought they were using at the time.

But outside of that, it's mostly trench fighting and guerilla warfare, which is why I spend more time in the 18th and 19th Centuries.

For me, my decade is the 1930s but only because I do "A Very British Civil War" gaming.

Like Bob, I'm mostly a 18th and 19th century gamer.

WW1 (1910-1919) air combat (WoW/WoG). Got a big game this weekend.

After that, some WWII, but that's limited to Memoir ‘44 and a single copy of TANKS. WoG is by far the bigger obsession.

Don't do that much 20th century – my preference is early WWII, so late 1939 – early 1941-ish.

Don't really "do" 20th Century – I'm mostly Ancients and Medieval. But if push comes to shove: WW II using Lionel Tarr's rules.

40's and WWII especially naval. Second choice would be 80's, WWIII Nato vs Warsaw Pact.

I voted "none of these…" because my games are earlier periods, fantasy or science fiction. I would play (and have played) other people's 20th Century games, though.

Actually, I do play a lot of WWII skirmish games, but I play a number of other 20th century games. Mostly, the Vietnam War 1964-1975, the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), and pulp spy fi games (1960-1980) as well as pulp Kong Fu/gun fu cop vs. bad guys games set in 1970-2000. Oh, have played some WWI games too. But that it all.

Pretty hard for 1940-49 not to come out ahead given the events of that decade

I like the 30's. Spanish Civil War, Chaco War, Chinese warlords… What's not to like?
