I never watch any basketball on tv. College or pro. So, if I were ever to turn in a bracket, it would be with the same expectation as buying a lottery ticket. When I do buy one, I let the machine pick. I'm no good at guessing. |

What's a bracket, in this context? |

It's a breakdown of the 68 team (yes, 68, not 64 🙄) NCAA basketball tournament. |

Not the precise opposite of historical miniatures wargaming--that would be individual races--but close enough. |

I used to do a bracket, but not over the past 12 years or so. With the push for betting, I have soured on it. I do watch the games while I paint. It's exciting background noise. |

I have two, as mentioned in the original discussion. I do not bet on any sports event, especially something as wildly inconsistent as college level sporting teams. |

The what now! I assume this is some weird American coded thing. Never heard of it! |

Well, yes. It IS a weird American thing. You can play it socially in the office pool for $5 USD, and then ignore it until the end of March Madness. Or, you can take it seriously, and ponder it for two weeks, and crash and burn just as quickly as the guy who just took five minutes. It's for serious people who have too much time on their hands. Following College basketball with its "scholars athaletes" is another sign that you need to spend more time painting your Napoleonic army. |

Got it in one, jamie43. We don't talk a lot about it with outsiders. Some of us find it a little embarrassing, and anyway they wouldn't believe us. Note that it's actually sane if you compare it with "fantasy football"--which doesn't even have Dwarves. |
