I glue my figures to their gaming base before I prime and paint them.
The only thing the underside of the figure sees is quick set epoxy.

Do you paint the boots of your tank commanders?

My figures are primed and base coated-Once found somebody scratching the paint on the underside of a Leman Russ-he was trying to see what primer colour i used.There are rude folks out there….

Most of my tank commanders/gunners don't have legs, let alone boots …

I used to do things like paint the interiors of tanks that you never would see – I have moved past that!

It depends. Vehicles, tanks etc. just get base coated. Airplanes, starships and infantry get the full treatment.
