The great Gil Gerard. To me and my generation, he was and always will be Buck Rogers, even if actor Buster Crabbe portrayed him four decades earlier and after his stint as Flash Gordon. And Mr. Crabbe was a special guest star on an episode of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. That series still holds a special place in my heart, and although "dated", its characters, look, and vibe still inspires my imagination.

Godspeed, "Buck", and thank you very, very much

peace

Bidi-bidi-bidi Rest in Peace, Buck. Bidi-bidi.

I saw the film* in the theater, and watched the first season of the show. Somehow I never even knew there was a second season, until two years ago when a local cable channel started carrying it at night. (From what I saw, I didn't miss anything worth seeing… except Colonel Deering in what can only be described as Sailor Moon outfit twenty years before there was a Sailor Moon. She wound up looking like a cruise director. But at least a hot one.)

*Really the TV two-part pilot gussied up for cinema release to play off the Star Wars craze, and copy Battlestar Galactica, which did the same thing.

I saw him at a MacDonalds in the late 80's. He was wearing overalls. No shirt, no shoes, no socks, just overalls. He was very excited about the BOGO for $.25 USD Bic Mac offer (no joke). I saw Buck Rogers order 2 big macs.
May you have all the Big Macs your soul desires. RIP
