Really shocking news, I'm sure eventually the facts will come out – but what a talent with When Harry Met Sally, Stand by me, Misery, The princess bride and – of course – This is Spinal Tap. No-one could accuse him of making the same film over and over again. |

Yes, he was one of my favourites, both as a director & an actor. It's very sad. I believe there's a very uncharitable, even distasteful "obituary" of him circulating social media. |
