An interesting fact: frozen pelmeni were dropped from airplanes to Soviet troops in Stalingrad at night. This is excellent field food – meat and dough included, which can be easily cooked in a pot over a fire, it is nutritious and tasty, takes up little space during transportation, can be mass-produced as a semi-finished product and delivered to the site. The drops were made at night by Po-2 airplanes from a low altitude without any equipment. |
