…over a 160 still missing.

The death toll in the Texas flash flooding is brutal. It is especially hard for those that lost children at the Camp Mystic site. The loss of your child is a wound that never heals.

My prayers go out to those that perished and to those that lost family and friends.

Requiem aeternam dona ets, Domine,
et lux perpetua luceat ets.

That is tragic and heartbreaking. I couldn't imagine the pain those families are suffering.

This is a singularly awful tragedy. I fear some of the lost will never be found. Definitely prayers.

One of my great-nieces (my sister's granddaughter) is generally familiar with the area affected, as she and her family live just outside of San Antonio. She told my sister that a few years ago she and her church group camped in one of the areas flooded. I told my sister that I couldn't help thinking about her when the news broke about this tragic event.

It's gotten to the point where I've stopped keeping up with it – it's too much for now. Also, I'm reminded about the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927, and what's been done to prevent it from ever happening again at that magnitude. Hopefully, well-researched and proven solutions will be implemented.

Godspeed to the victims, and God be with everyone affected. Amen.

And something similar happened in New Mexico, but without the tremendous loss of life.
