Sly Stone was unquestionably one of the most talented musicians of the last century, and he was highly influential in redefining the boundaries of soul, funk, pop, and rock. Unfortunately, his worldwide success was coupled with the personal demons and temptations that can be associated with acquiring fame.

On a personal note, my older brother was initially a fan of Sly and the Family Stone, and he had an old school 8-track cassette of their Greatest Hits album. It became one of my most favorite albums and I practically wore out the tape listening to it so many times!

Godspeed, Sly, and thank you for sharing the great music.

peace

Another talent tormented by personal demons. It seems to be the case for so many. Thanks for the tunes Sly and RIP.
