"Hollywood strikes Again" Topic

Hollywood is doing a movie called the lavender Men.
It will explore Lincoln's homosexuality. Yup, you got it.

I'm sure it will do well in certain markets, not so well in others.
I shan't be patronizing it.

What a hateful concept.

1.It's not "Hollywood", it's a small independent film that nobody will see.

2. The premise is that present day queer person daydreams an imaginary Lincoln/Ellsworth affair.

3. Not my cup of tea, but no more a rewriting of history than "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter".

It looks like the title of this thread should be, "Hollywood strikes out again."

Point number 2 above – it's not about Lincoln, he's just a symbol.

I doubt my local cinema will pick it up – it's a bit niche – but then again they might have a showing for Pride day in June or the Film Club might choose it for their next season as it looks like quite an interesting idea. So maybe, thanks for the heads up.

Point 1) Any film that comes out is considered to be Hollywood because it reflects the film industry.

Point 2) Yes, that could be true.

Point 3) Actually no. No one believes Lincoln was fighting Vampires or that Vampires even exist. But being gay. Yes people could end up believing that.
