I've noticed a dramatic uptick in FB, TMP, and Ebay sellers who "fudge" their descriptions of miniatures. Particularly the scale and brand. Or both! As an example – a listing with scale listed as 28mm and brand as unknown when the figures are obviously Old Glory 25mm. Just irritating. |

3D printed resin "castings". They picture a nice render of the program, and the figure arrives much scrawnier. Harrumph. |

In my opinion, the 25 vs. 28mm may come from some of us old folks who think RalPartha (true 25mm). The Old Glory 25mm colonials would never mix with RalPartha. Some of our collections are older and the manufacturer name may be lost to history. I would not put it down to anything shady. To get around the size issue, I usually include a quarter in any pictures and state it is not included in the sale and is only for size comparison. |

Old Glory has always been compatible with other 28mm figures, but they call themselves "25mm". 🤷 |

28mm is not a scale, it is a size. link link TMP link If I feel like selling minis, I look forward to contacting you to identify all the obvious brands of second hand minis I have bought. |

It could be a mistake – they might not know they are old glory, and they might look at eBay and see that 28mm is the phrase for the figure scale. 25mm scale is a bit of a niche now, people expect the bigger 28mm scale figures. So saying 25mm scale is the route to no sale…. |

"etotheipiIf I feel like selling minis, I look forward to contacting you to identify all the obvious brands of second hand minis I have bought." *NJH:Surely, I'm available, at this time. I can send you my research rates, if you're serious. I only do historicals, which are not antiques – no non-metal, pod-feet, and no Britains. Before I list something for sale anywhere, I research each figure. If I cannot ID the figure: 1. It goes into a special can to be melted down and used for other purposes; 2. If the metal is unsuitable/questionable it gets recycled at my local transfer station. :^) |

Here's a good example of my rant: "28mm Well Painted War of 1812 Arkansas Infantry" I suspect the seller was doing a bit of cut and paste and failed to notice the glaringly obvious error. BTW – I've bought from this seller, and will do so again. This is just too good of an on-point example. :^) |

There is a big difference between: failed to notice the glaringly obvious error and overtly lie --- Before I list something for sale Interesting, but not germain to the coversation. The OP is about immoral behaviour (lying) by other people, unless you are asserting your authority over others on how they conduct second-hand sales, and asserting that not meeting your standards for fiture identification is tantamount to lying, how you conduct business is irrelevant to the topic. |
