How have I not heard of this movie? You got lucky? (Until now…. ) I'm very uncertain that there is an audience for this. Unless someone can convince me it has real dramatic merit I don't see me shelling out for it. |

It took 6 years to make – When they started it would probably have been looking for a 2020 or 2021 release. COVID was probably one reason it was delayed. I see what you are hinting at, but arguably this is a bad time to release in the USA where next to no one will be excited by it for diametrically opposite reasons, but (don't let on) the USA isn't actually the whole world…I would have thought that 2022 would have been a much better release date. On the sample of TMP members it looks like no-one has seen it! |

Oh giddity gosh now I don't know – just saw the Kermode review (I won't link, if you're interested it is searchable on youtube with "Mark Kermode reviews The Apprentice ") and he makes the points that it's factually accurate and adds the magic phrase "I think it is a better film than I expected" and also makes the point that it contains nothing that is controversial (i.e. it's all documented). I don't agree all the time with Mark Kermode, but he is a reasonably even handed critic….so…well, maybe it's on the possible list. Or I wait for it to be on TV. |
