This is a very odd movie. On the one hand it's a very standard 'disaster movie' with a few people trying to survive a disaster (which in this case is an invasion of rampaging murderous alien creatures). But on the other hand it about a young woman with terminal cancer trying to live out her remaining days with some sort of dignity. Lupita Nyong'o is fantastic as the woman and honestly I wish the aliens had just stayed home and allowed us to witness this moving and heartfelt story. Oh, and her cat is amazing, too! :)

I thought it was by far the best of the three films in the series so far.

They do still need to explain how the aliens are always 45 seconds away from everyone at all times no matter the location…
