Newhart passed away from natural causes following a series of short illnesses on Thursday morning at his home in Los Angeles, according to his publicist, Jerry Digney. The comedian was surrounded by his family.

Enjoyed watching him in his two comedic series, plus as Ducky's predecessor on NCIS.

He had more than two series.
His shows were, in order
The Bob Newhart Show (variety)
Bob Newhart Show (situation comedy)
Newhart (situation comedy)
Bob (situation comedy)

He once joked that if he had another, it would have to be named "Show."

His final run as Professor Proton on Big Bang Theory was terrific— especially as the professor's Jedi "Force Ghost" who appeared in Sheldon's dreams. laugh

RIP, and thanks for the laughs!

A classic comedian from my youth who turned into a terrific actor with the same "buttoned down" style. All his TV work was excellent not the least for playing opposite the incredible Suzanne Pleshette! His last turns in "BBT" and "The Librarian" were but the icing on a great career cake. Thanks Bob.

Loved watching Newhart when it first aired. So many good, quirky characters. With Newhart in the lead. Great show!

Started as a stand-up comdeian and then moved to the small screen with several successful series.

He did comedy that was actually funny and not disgusting. An all around class act and person.
