Has anyone tried this stuff? What are the main ingredients in plant-based meat? It depends on the brand, but most plant-based meats are made from pea or soy protein, a type of fat, and some sort of binder, but they may also contain natural and artificial flavors to make the product taste more like meat. Plant-based meat alternatives often contain more sodium than animal meats—in some examples up to six times more—and some of them contain added sugars, artificial coloring, and controversial additives like carrageenan and methylcellulose, which are bulking agents Video: link Wolfhag |

I've tried the Burger King non-meat Whopper. Not great, not bad, but one time it tasted nasty – maybe they burned it. |

Plants aren't meat. To me they taste terrible but I am a carnivore! |

It's much easier to turn plants in to delicious meat when just you feed them to a cow! |

Sodium, other nutrients, etc. vary brand by brand and item by item. Like anything else, read the label. I like most of the non-meat meat things I have had. Our farm was next door to an abattoir, so I am not a big fan of calling them "meat". Also, I am an empiricist, so same-same. Subway used to have a vegan? vegetarian? black bean patty. It was great with bacon. Beans'n'bacon … mmmmmmmmmm! The veggie patties don't taste like meat. Then again, different meats don't taste the same, either. I don't understand how people "hate vegetables". It's as horrible a diet choice as not eating meat. |
