I heard it bombed on opening day. Or at least did not do very well money wise. I do plan to go see it. |

Yeah – it does look to have done badly. I can't understand it. It's got a good balance of action and humour, it "honours the comic book world" in the sense of staying true enough to its source material but not overly so or in a dull way that would be off putting to someone not really interested in comics. I thought it handled the time travel paradoxes pretty well too. I know DC films often struggle compared to Marvel – with notable exceptions like Shazam (which I didn't really like), Wonder Woman (excellent) and The Dark Knight Trilogy (superb) – but I don't really understand why. The Flash is a very good superhero film. For context on that opinion – Aquaman and Black Adam were also pretty good (IMHO). |

It's particularly baffling since Rotten Tomatoes has: critics rating: 66% audience rating: 84% For me – yes, 84% sounds about right. It's an 8/10 superhero movie. It's not Citizen Kane or Battleship Potemkin, but for a film about superheroes it's pretty darn good. But what do I know….  |
