"Film will follow D'Artagnan (Francois Civil), a spirited young Gascon, who is left for dead after trying to save a young woman from being kidnapped. When he arrives in Paris, he tries by all means to find his attackers. He is unaware that his quest will lead him to the heart of a real war where the future of France is at stake. Allied with Athos (Vincent Cassel), Porthos (Pio Marmai), and Aramis (Romain Duris), three musketeers of the King (Louis Garrel) with a dangerous temerity, D'Artagnan faces the dark machinations of the Cardinal of Richelieu (Eric Ruf). But it is when he falls madly in love with Constance Bonacieux (Lyna Khoudri), the Queen's (ghastly dull Vicky Krieps) confidante, that d'Artagnan truly puts himself in danger. For it is this passion that leads him into the wake of the one who becomes his mortal enemy: Milady de Winter (bizarrely grotesque Eva Green). Jacob Fortune-Lloyd stars as Duke of Buckingham! This new adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' 1844 novel will introduce a new character, Hannibal, based on the true story of Louis Anniaba, the first Black musketeer in French history. He is played by Ralph Amoussou"

Looks interesting. At least everyone isn't wearing black for a change.

Cinemas….

"Believe it or not April is just two weeks away from us and that means that the adventure we have been waiting for is ready to hit cinemas with the first part of the planned duology THE THREE MUSKE- TEERS: D'ARTAGNAN and then the second part – THE THREE MUSKE- TEERS: MILADY will arrive in December this year, Pathe has meanwhile released the magnificent character posters to wet our appetites! Beside that, together with Disney Plus they are also making two spin off TV series MILADY: ORIGINS which will follow the beginnings of the elegant villainess and BLACK MUSKETEER which I announced a few years ago. To be shot in French, the series will build on the experience gathered making the $80 USD million worth historical adventure movie saga based on Alexandre Dumas' work."

Not wearing black, no leather and no explosions!
Looks good. Three Musketeers must be the book that has had
the most movies and series done on it in history. Maybe Treasure Island.

Ehh. After rewatching the Richard Lester films from the 70s, I can't see anything ever matching them. Sticking in a lot of add-ons or new characters not in the original book just further distances me. Why do I smell "Rings of Power"?

Looks really good – but as a subtitled film it'll probably get just a few screenings at my FLC. And probably on the FLC's smallest screen.

Fingers-crossed I'll see it!

I enjoyed the two films (so far) D'Artagnan and Milady, they seem to have taken more inspiration from the recent BBC tv series than the original book.

Fight scenes are very well done.
