GREAT actress in film, on stage and TV.

And what a range ! From the delightful witch 'wannabe'
in Bedknobs and Broomsticks to the manipulative mother
in the Manchurian Candidate and a score or more of
other roles she embraced and made her own, including
the meat shop proprietress in Sweeney Todd, the voice of
Mrs Potts in Beauty and the Beast and of course her
debut in movies (aged 17) in Gaslight.

So rich and varied was her career (and life !) I could
go on and on and on – alas….

A million thanks, Ma'am, and Godspeed.

RIP. She was multi-talented and (I understand) an excellent human being.

Mr. Mohrmann has summed it up beautifully. She was nominated for Oscars on her first two roles! Wondering if any one else has that honor? She should have won for "The Manchurian Candidate." That was one cold mutha. I must confess kinda falling in lust with Jessica in "Murder She Wrote." By the time I saw the shows we were of an age. Thank you for the memories Ms. Lansbury.

I'm sorry she's gone but glad she had a long life – producing excellent work in every part of it. She was always really, really watchable. RIP indeed.
