Great actress. Was the tough female figure on the bridge, yet sensitive when she needed to be. RIP

So sad to hear this news and Starfleet is poorer for it, RIP and thanks for everything you have done. You will be missed.

bandid86 just said it all. Rest In peace Ms. Nichols for
all your contributions and efforts both on and off screen.
Thank you. I know our boomer generation will never forget
you.

It's easy to make an impression as an actor, tough to change the world. I think she changed the world. As a kid watching Star Trek re-runs she made that character competent but not arrogant, black but it was not about her being black, a woman on the bridge but it was not about her being a woman, determined but not unreasonable. She really made a statement in a supporting role.

She leaves the world better off. RIP.

+1 Andrew Walters

Play a role, be remembered and revered by generations, and help change the world. Not bad for anyone, much less any actor.

A beautiful person, excellent actress and a pathfinder. RIP

I met her once at a convention in Oklahoma City shortly after Gene Rodenberry passed away. Had my wife and our less than year-old daughter #1 with us. She stopped and talked with us and kissed my daughter's foot. Very nice lady.
