Gasoline is funny stuff. I had some interesting "cinematic" effects using it to start fires in a garbage burn-barrel. Don't care to repeat them. |

When I was on set for the filming of the Fredericksburg part of "Gods and Generals" they used those metal 'mortar pots' like were used in this video, but they were buried to be flush with the ground and had chunks of burnt cork instead of gasoline. It was interesting to see how the movie people made very, VERY sure only the stunt men got close to the explosions while we reenactors were at a safe distance. |

In the movie "Glory" a character's head explodes somewhat traumatizing Robert Shaw. For whatever reason they practiced the effect using a fake head lat the "Battle of Olustee" reenactment where incidental action scenes were shot. No gasoline was present…. but lots of hamburger. Yuck…. is about all I could say about it. |
