Okay, HP 15 TS Notebook (Win 8.1 64 bit) keyboard is starting to act up (Numbers one-four & associated symbols are not working. I'm working around this with no real problem…but do I: A) Take it to Ubreakit/Wefix it? or B) Buy a new remote keyboard for it? And if your answer is "B"…recommendations for something good & cheap would be appreciated also. Thanks in advance… A |

I am not familiar with that equipment, but here's what popped into my head: Try taking a can of compressed air to it. Turn it upside down and shake it. Keyboards collect a lot of (disgusting) detritus. Cleaning may be the answer. Check the web and see if the keys this unit can be removed and replaced. If so, do that, along with compressed air. You can get a $15 USD bluetooth keyboard from Amazon. Very handy. Synch it to your phone and you can do real work anywhere. Handy in many situations, and it might help here. Good luck! |

Look for a video or instructions on swapping out the keyboard. It will be either very simple or a PITA. Canned air will work if there is stuff stuck under the keys, if it is the membrane then it is not going to help. If you notebook has Bluetooth then Andrew's suggestion is great. If it does not, then either wired or wireless with a dongle is the way to go. Good luck |
