Finally! This is a full-bore reproduction of the original Commodore 64 with a full keyboard and joystick. The hardware is updated with USB ports, too. If you're a C-64 gamer, it includes a large collection of pre-loaded classic computer games from the heyday of the original computer!

The listed release date is November 5, but it looks like they may already be shipping to Canada!

I've made my pre-order; it's my spouse-approved Christmas present! thumbs upgrin

Now thats a blast from the past for sure. Don't want one though, but pretty cool. I want my apple IIe back.

Maybe I should get out my FORTRAN IV textbook…

Sounds cool, though I already have a retropi for all my retro gmaing needs (it was my lockdown project).

I had my Dad's ZX spectrum when I was very young, and envied my friend who had a c64, it made my speccy look like a pile of junk. I was delighted when I finally got one, and had many happy years with it. Then on to 16bit.

The odd thing is though, as humble as the spectrum was I now delight much more in its vibrant (clashing) colours than I do in the c64 muted tones with its weird rectangular pixels. One department where the c64 is unbeatable is the sound and music, which are still superb.
Now that that I understand just how limited those 8bit machines were, a lot of the games seem like little miricales that the worked at all.

I wonder if that means I can just sell my original. In the attic now, last used by DOM in high school (11 or so years ago) as a controller for a project. I'd take $130 USD for it.

I wonder if they'll do a VIC-20 next…

They already have; it's available in the UK now, I think.
But the C64 has a "VIC-20 Mode", so it seems a bit superfluous…
