This is my old, but Trusty, gaming computer…

Cyberboard, early Wesnoth, etc., all of which are loaded onto the main disk

However, my other BIG Go to Game on this unit is…

TOAW – Century of Warfare (Talonsoft), which is, in turn, on the disk drive.

A few weeks ago, something went wrong (minor) while playing COW (or during the process of loading/ejecting) and I accidentally hit the "Disconnect/Detach CD Drive" button.

Since it was a digital/electronic disconnect, obviously, nothing physical was pulled out, so…how do I "reconnect" the drive?

This PC is old and still works great, but I miss the option of playing TOAW-COW on it. (I usually play a game or a few turns thereof at night before going to bed).

Any Help or advice would be most welcome!

Thanks in advance,

Andrew

Did you restart it?

You can also have it scan for changes in hardware in device manager to have it find the drive again.

Sorry it has been too long since I touched a windows 98 system.

The PC proper works fine, just Disk Drive disconnected.

But thanks for the advice, will do!

Have you cheched your BIOS? That's where you can tell the PC the drives you have.
