Edith Reynolds White was one of the Navy's "code girls" during WW2, helping to crack Japanese codes. She died recently at age 96.

She was also a civil rights activist in Virginia as well as having a life-long passion for art and literature.

Another of the "greatest generation" gone to Fiddler's Green.
