Creator of the Dirk Pitt adventure novels along with the "NUMA Files" and the "Oregon Files" series. Age 88. Worked with real life son Dirk Cussler on some recent works.

I've only read one of his novels, but he sure could tell a story.

I haven't read any of his books but I enjoyed the films "Raise the Titanic," before we found out what she REALLY looked like, and "Sahara."

I really liked Sahara, but I understand he didn't so much.

I met him once. He was a true gentleman. RIP

I read one of his books it seemed more of a movie script complete with a cameo in it for him.

Rest in Peace, Sir.
Was a huge fan. Most of my family were as well. Not sure if I read all the Dirk Pitt novels, but pretty close. Thanks for many hours of great reading and even the loss of sleep when it was bedtime and I kept on reading.

My sympathy and condolences to your family and friends.

I really liked Sahara, but I understand he didn't so much.

There are so many reasons on why.

Bad casting for one and it only barely following the book.

I started reading his books back in the early 1980's and would say that he kept me in reading material for decades.

Over the past decade he just added his name onto books written by others basically to give those new writers a chance at the business.

Sad to hear that he has passed.

RIP
