Invasive species as food is one way to get rid of them – Since invasive grey squirrels are more palatable than native red ones, the UK groups dedicated to removing the greys have suggested eating them, for example, – but the issue is quality and disease for the most part.

SARS and Covid dealt a blow to international "bush meat" trade, although proponents of that industry tend to believe neither disease is real.
