Meh.
I've had pickles on pizza and I think it's pretty good. Not only pickles … like a 'shroom or an onion pizza. My guess about naysayers … well … does Gordon Ramsey eat anchovies on pizza? Different flavour, but still a strong, sharp flavour.
Bugs on ice cream (ignoring the blood part … if it doesn't look like blood, how is it Halloweeny?)? If mealworms were crunchy, then they were cooked. Cooked bugs are no different than any other cooked animal. Mostly they're crunchy ('coz fried), little to no taste, and a bunch of protein.
Broccoaltte? That's just a horrible way to waste broccoli … powder it. Then again, latte is a horrible waste of good coffee, too. How about this … drink your coffee black and eat your broccoli raw or lightly steamed? Basically, putting a supplement you can't taste into a drink. You coulda had a V8!
There are so many more repulsively exotic things people eat. Give me a ring when they make balut ice cream …
P.S. That is not a cultural slam on the people who eat balut. I've had it. I just didn't like it. I don't like bologna or stuff in my coffee, either. But you have to admit, balut is an exotic outlier, as opposed to random mammal on a stick, which is eaten nearly everywhere people eat meat.
