He played two memorable roles on classic Star Trek:

* Captain Tracey, who got involved in the war between the Yangs and the Kohms

* the mind control victim in Dagger of the Mind, apparently he was Spock's first human mind-meld on the series.

I am amazed that these actors, who had probably done cop and cowboy shows their whole careers, could come in for Star Trek and give the performances they did.

On Star trek he had that "mad as a hatter" facial expression that was perfect for the characters he played. RIP good sir.

Well Deforest Kelly did quite a few westerns during the 1950's, 1960's and even after Star Trek ended.

He was petty good in every one.
