I have 4 old metal upright rats approx 6.5 to 7cm tall. They are dressed with waist & chest belts carrying matches and small arrow like weapons with a white rat carrying a quiver on its back containing matches and he's carrying a book.A slightly larger than the other 3 is a undressed and upright rat with hands on hips as though struggling with a bad back.I know this may seem a bit vague and photos would be an ideal aid to identifying but I have been searching for the correct identification now for many months possibly years, thanks in advance. |

Can't help with a manufacturer or source, but they sound like characters from Sir Terry Pratchett's Discworld novel The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents. The white rat holding the book is probably meant to be Dangerous Beans, the rats' resident genius, sage, and philosopher. The rats use matches as torches, IIRC, during the novel's delve into the abandoned rat tunnels in one town. Terrific book, both funny and hair-raising…and who you're scared for are the rats! |

Found ‘em! They were apparently made in the UK by Clarecraft: link I found that by searching for "Dangerous Beans" miniatures. |
