I was reluctant to see Spike Lee's "BlacKkKlansman" mainly because I thought having to watch white supremacists at their evil work would be depressing. But the superbly made film, whilst not pulling punches, is really affirming. There are flashes of comedy (mainly at the expense of various pin headed Klansmen) but the movie, based on real events, concerns an audacious undercover investigation. The conclusion of the movie ties in Charlottsville, to show the evils of racism have not retreated. A classic of the future. |
