Carl Perkins is of course a god. (Small g. Let's not be blasphemous….)
Back story. George Harrison had been shell-shocked for years from a disastrous tour in the 70s. All the Beatles worshipped Carl. This was his way of bringing George out of his shell. One result was the Traveling Wilburys. And George was a pallbearer at Carl's funeral…
Anyway, Carl had George, Dave Edmunds the Welsh hillbilly, Ringo, Eric Clapton, the Stray Cats, and the lovely Rosanne Cash. (I forgive her the 70s hair…)

Is it possible to see performers having more fun?
Carl certainly brought George out of his shell.

Most of my Youtube research lately has been friends jamming with friends.

I took my son (in his 20's) to see Million Dollar Quartet a few years back. Of course he has heard of Elvis and he was a Johnny Cash fan (mostly because of his great Nine Inch Nails cover).

But after the show, he had developed a great love for Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins. Jerry Lee because he is such an irascible and irreverent goofball, I get that. But he said that how come Elvis is the "King of Rock and Roll" when clearly Carl Perkins was the definitive archetype early rocker?

The musical does hint why Carl never got the exposure and fame he deserved. But he did live on, through all those more famous musicians that he did inspire. Elvis owes a great deal to him even.

Oh, and Brian Setzer is also a small "g" guitar God. Imo
