Met Gunny once at a meet/greet at the Cincinnati Cavalcade Of Customs Show(it 's about cars,bikes,trucks,etc.) . Seemed proud when I mentioned of my paternal grandpa's hitch with the Marines in WW1. I even saluted him,and was complimented by him for it. Condolences to his family. Rest easy,thanks,and Semper Fi! OOhRah!

I remember him most as the Marine drill sergeant in Space: Above and Beyond, and the voice of the plastic Army men sergeant in Toy Story. Loved his "Gunny Time" series, too.
