Ed McBain sued him and lost, he felt Hill Street Blues was a rip-off of McBain's 87th Precinct concept. |

CC, 'Hill Street Blues' was one of the first cop shows where the characters were 'real people' - warts and all. My LEO relatives remarked how many of the show's plot lines could have come right out of their precincts. RIP and thanks. |
