I am, among other things, a hostage negotiator. Or policy is that we NEVER change places with the hostage. Too many negatives and no positives. Of course that reasoning doesn't necessarily work with fanatics. What the Lt-Col. did takes a special kind of bravery. God bless sir, rest in peace knowing your sacrifice saved the life of an innocent. |

God Bless Him. And his family, friends and colleagues. Thoughts and prayers also go out for the other victims of this evil sickness. |

I noticed that Lt. Col Beltrame's funeral was carried on the front page in today's Wall Street Journal. The article indicated that President Macron had awarded Beltrame the Legion of Honor. |

Thanks for that update Onomarchos, had been intending on following up on the funeral. On a further note as to Lt. Col. Beltrame's sense of duty, he and his civilly married wife were scheduled to be married in the Church in June. Truly a man deserving of eery posthumous honor France can bestow. |
