Busted ! Not been true since way back in 1995.

Never had one,myself. Never needed one,since I don't travel outside the USA at present. Closest I got got was when I was about 12 y/o on vaycay w/ my family in Sault Ste. Marie,MI and we took a tour tram right up to the Canadian border gate on the International Bridge. At that time,it wasn't required for travel into Canada from the US.

We let ours lapse as had little interesting in traveling out of the US after 9/11.

Had a passport years ago, let lapse and since no travel
outside the US, see no need to get another.
