Bob Eldridge, a long-time member of our gaming group
in North Carolina and one of the leading lights in the
Naval gaming fraternity passed away on Tuesday,
December 19th.

Bob was a contributor to Seekrieg, designed his own
scenarios and over the past couple of years was working on
'what if' types of scenarios for the Pacific inter-war
years, especially the Central Pacific.

In addition to his presence in Naval gaming, Bob was one of
the team leads locally in developing rules for the AWI,
MAW and the ACW.

Bob was one of the most knowledgeable people I've
ever met on WWII Pacific Naval matters and on other
aspects of US Military/Naval history.

Who asked this joker24 Dec 2017 7:01 a.m. PST

Sad news, Ed. Back when we first started coming to Southern Front, I played in one of Bob's games of Medieval Warfare. He was a very enthusiastic gamer and always very knowledgeable on the subject at hand. Like many of us, he seemed to go in many directions at once. For instance, I never knew his main interest was naval gaming. I always thought his main interest was Ancient and Medieval gaming. A friendly guy always willing to talk about any and all subjects of the hobby. May he rest in peace.

Very sad. Bob was quite welcoming during my time in North Carolina. I'm glad to have known him.

Ed, check your private messages. If you get me his picture, I'll put it on the memorial banner for tomorrow.

Sorry, not 'our' Bob. That man passed away in 2013.
