Anyone Else ready to give up? Spoilers

We go from the Saviors isolated and under attack, to the simultaneous attacks on the good guy compounds. No explanation that I noticed – just Eugene figured it out

PzGeneral11 Dec 2017 6:51 p.m. PST

We have 4 on the DVR……hasn't been must see TV in a couple seasons….

Spoilers, if your not caught up!!!!! From what I saw, after Darly messed up & didnt follow the plan. Eugene told Negan they could make more bullets at that factory so there was no longer a concern for the saviors to conserve ammo as much, since they have a way to make more. So they just shot their way out.

So they just shot their way out.

Wouldn't they just have shot their way out anyway? Or would they rather die and to save bullets? I'm sure they would've used every bullet to try and survive. The fact that Eugene can make more bullets is nice but it certainly wouldn't have changed their tactical situation of trying to survive no matter what.

I'm wondering why they didn't use the grenade launchers on the herd. The way they took out Alexandria it seems they must have been 105mm or larger grenade launchers. Maybe Eugene made those up too…

The last few episodes really have me scratching my head. For a 90 minute mid season finale they wasted a lot of time and should've explained a few things – primarily how the Saviors managed to do a 180 on their situation in just a few hours without anyone finding out.

But I did get my wish going back to the first season as it seems Carl the Cyclops is going to die. I jumped out of my chair and cheered when I saw that.

That is why I keep watching. I've got a growing list of characters I want to see die.

I havent seen the finale yet,but why didnt they just pour a bunch of flammable on them from the balcony and light them up?

I would like to kill whoever writes the dialogue for Eugene and Negan both.
Listening to the two of them having a conversation is a nightmare.

When Season 7 showed up on Netflix, I got caught up. Left me wondering why I should care about any of these idiots. Of course, that's also what I was thinking after I got caught up on Season 6.

I used to love this show (and the comic too), but I find it painful to watch nowadays and can't wring much enjoyment from it anymore.

And the uncritical love fest of Talking Dead provides some insight as to what it must have been like at Jonestown before the Kool-Aid was distributed.

@Delta I think Eugene's drone ipod lured them all away. But yes, not all that clear or particularly satisfying.

The whole 'shortage of ammo' issue is ridiculous. The US has something on the order of 300,000,000 guns in civilian hands right now, which would translate into several TRILLION rounds of ammo in stockpiles. 98% of the population died or got zombified right off, so very little of that ammo would have gotten used up in the initial collapse and the few survivors could not have made much of a dent in it since then. There would be piles of ammo everywhere, more than they could ever use up. There might be local shortages, but that would just mean driving ten more miles to the next town and the next gun store.

Eugene have shown how they can managed with the horde… the "traitor" shoot the "Project" in the air…

What happened with the snipers?….

How many times Rick could trust with the "Trash people"?… again and again they betrayed him… (?!!)

What did the "King"?… I don't get it…

How many "Saviors soldiers" were in the complex?… they could managed to attack the three towns at the same time?… who told them were the convoy with Maggie run?…

Bad chapter.

Rife with Deus ex machina.

I was faintly hopeful they would move in a new direction and show what it takes to rebuild a society after the trauma of the zombie plague.

I disagree. Their lines are some of the best in the show.

Then you must like Simon too. Negan's Mini-me.

I did kind of like Eugene's "Wilkes Barre of walkers", though.

Me too. I was hoping for that after they reached Alexandria. Still gobs of drama available in following that sort of story line: 'clearing operations' to make larger swathes of territory safe, re-establishing agriculture, making connections to other survivor communities, dealing with effects of PTSD on pretty much the entire population, and of course looking at different effects and impacts of PTSD on different survivors, as well as different coping and/or treatment options, and much more.

Instead, all we got was a bigger and badder villain.

+1

Although letting Maggie return to the Hilltop with no Savior escort made no sense. Then again more and more of this show is as the seasons go by.

Still better entertainment than 90% of what is out there.

What a jumbled mess. It seemed like several key scenes were left on the editing floor. For example, at the beginning of the episode Carol and Jerry rescue Rick with their car. A little later there is the briefest of flashes of scenes of the faces of Rick, Jerry and Carol, then we never see them together again.

Still later, we see Jerry as a hostage, Rick is at Alexandria and Carol is at the Kingdom. When did the three of them separate? How did they get to their final scenes?

Interesting that the moment the first shots were fired at Negan's compound, the Garbage Pail kids ran away…again.

Eugene's dialogue was clever at first several seasons ago but has become forced, contrived and hammy.

But most important of all, can anyone offer an opinion of what will happen to Carl?

Personal logo Doctor X Supporting Member of TMP13 Dec 2017 11:48 p.m. PST

I believe the appropriate term for Carl's near future is "Dead man walking…"

14Bore19 Dec 2017 2:59 p.m. PST

I wonder if I'm losing interest, I'm 2 or 3 episodes behind.

skinkmasterreturns20 Dec 2017 8:39 p.m. PST

Im going to go out on a limb here, but I think its time to wrap this thing up.

Trajanus22 Dec 2017 8:09 a.m. PST

Amen to that. I baled after Season 6 when "The Governor" was reincarnated as the jerk with the baseball bat for Season 7.
