Heroscape: Road to the Forgotten Forest

It's a terrain expansion for Heroscape, but will non-Heroscape gamers be attracted by the trees?

"Sorry noob, we're not taking you, you need better equipment for raiding."
"How do I get that equipment ?"
"By raiding of course !"

I find it absolutely wonderful that some people were born with a perfect encyclopedic knowledge of the intricacies of running every raid in the game already extant or still to come. I had a huge disadvantage in that I had a computer that would freeze during such scenarios making my contribution almost nil.

Because I am aware that I'm not good, I'm not jumping forward to volunteer unless they really need people to round out the game etc. So I get invited and they start screaming because Crom forbid that you might happen to need to learn something and it's not really clear what to do …

They set you up to fail and then blame you for failing. Which makes me even more reluctant to join such scenarios.

At times I really want to sit next to them and their blooper reel and scream in their ear how stupid and incompetent they are …

I always just went my solitary way, had fun, and avoided groups.

I'm with Scott on this. Though you can suffer from gear envy, you better off soloing. It will keep your blood pressure down.

I never got the end game raiding thing anyway. You do it to get better gear, but if you've already defeated the big bad what do you need the better gear for? The next expansion where the whole cycle starts again?

That's a bit like asking "If you already have an unbeatable army, why do you need more figures?" Some people just gotta have more.

I've played a ton of MMO's. I hate the "must raid" to advance. Screws the casual player.

The Catch-22 of most MMO's.

Who are the weirdos asking that?
