If you had 3-7 days to spend in Switzerland as a tourist, where would you go and why?

Italy, France, Germany…?

Definetly Château de Chillon on Lake Geneva:

Grandson is nice – castle and town (has military history links too!)

Interlaken of course. Thun castle is great.

But absolute Number One place – Jungfraujoch – you'll never forget it

Oh and Lucerne – even if you only saw The Dance of Death Bridge it would be worth it.

Switzerland is a really interesting place. You'll love it – so much history, such incredible natural beauty.

We're looking seriously at Luzerne. It could be a good jumping off spot for some short train day trips.

Thanks

The Swiss Railway network is legendarily good.

You'll probably want to take a trip up Pilatus on the mountain railway I'd expect – the viewing area here is like something out of a Bond villain's lair!

But if you can only do / only want to do one mountain – well, I'd still suggest Jungfraujoch : the peak of Europe !
